Key Responsibilities

  • Create and execute content strategies for websites, blogs, social media platforms, and video channels tailored to African and international audiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including editors, designers, and marketers to produce multimedia content that aligns with brand goals.
  • Research emerging tech trends, audience preferences, and cultural insights to develop compelling story ideas and campaigns.
  • Edit, proofread, and publish high-quality articles, interviews, and multimedia features while maintaining brand voice and accuracy.
  • Manage and update content calendars to ensure timely delivery of projects across multiple platforms.
  • Optimize content for SEO best practices, accessibility standards, and audience engagement metrics.
  • Analyze performance data using digital analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to refine content strategies and improve user experience.
  • Stay updated on platform algorithm changes, content formats, and industry tools to maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements — Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in digital content creation, preferably in tech or media industries.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a portfolio showcasing diverse content.
  • Proficiency in CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal) and social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
  • Strong grasp of SEO principles, keyword research, and analytics tools (Google Analytics, SEMrush).
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment while meeting tight deadlines.

Requirements — Nice to Have

  • Experience with video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) or audio production tools.
  • Knowledge of climate-related tech trends or sustainability in digital media.
  • Familiarity with African tech ecosystems, startup culture, or policy developments.
